July 2013
Dear Friends,
Hello from warm Central Florida! Ok, well it is July, so it really classifies as HOT! This last weekend I had doctor’s orders to stay out of the sun, and not get overheated. I had an allergic reaction to a prescribed medicine, and broke out in hives all over. To not get over heated or hot, in July, in Central Florida, well that really curbed my activities. The rash is getting better now, and God provided a few rainy cloudy days to help me in my staying cool!
Our family has been all together for a while now, and that hadn’t happened in over a year. Great fun! The grandkids have been up for a few days each week since Amy and Hector have been with us. So we put up our little backyard pool to help them stay cool, too. Amy and Hector are having a good visit. They have been sharing their ministries in a couple of churches so far and have a couple more places to share before they head to Oregon on July 16. Last night they cooked us an authentic Mexican meal. It was very good. A tomoatillo sauce on corn tortillas with shredded chicken and cheese. YUM.
Here are some “URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS!! for NTM.
1. Please be praying for the Wayumi Team this summer! They have all but one week scheduled with many opportunities to challenge. A youth pastor sent the letter below to the Wayumi staff after his church group recently attended a “Wayumi Expedition” program. I found his letter very encouraging and thought you would too. (See below.) God is using Wayumi to challenge hearts. Let’s support them in prayer!
2. Please pray with us that God will rise up more laborers. In my recent reviews of the needs on the fields, they are asking for a total of 300 families NOW! Those opportunities are before us NOW! Please be praying that God will give YOU opportunity to challenge one person into this work!”
Our training centers are facing low enrollment for the Fall classes. This means fewer folks are headed out to the Mission fields. Please pray!
Thank you so much for your partnership in our work in NTM. You are such valued and precious friends to stand with us in the ministry. Thank you for your faithful prayers.
In Christ alone,
George and Linda Heckman and family
