Dear Friends,
Hello and warm greetings from Florida. We trust you had a wonderful Easter remembering the Lord who rose again, conquering death.
Our Easter was spent in Michigan with David and 6 friends from NTBI in Waukesha. We had a wonderful time in the snowy north! We saw some chipmunks and squirrels and tracks of rabbits and turkeys. Finally saw a group of deer on the Friday before we left, 14 in all. That was amazing! The lake was frozen over and we were able to walk on it and across it to the park area. Temperatures were cold, and we had a fire in the fireplace pretty much all the time. It was a fun break. The NTBI students were a joy to be around. They have such a hunger to know God more and to understand God’s word. We had devotions and discussion almost every morning or evening. Now we are back in weather 50+ degrees warmer. Wow, what a difference. We had fun on the ice, fishing, walking and a couple of the girls took a “Polar plunge”!
We have GOOD NEWS! Hector (Our son-in-law) received his tourist visa to the USA and it is valid for 10 years. Amy’s visa renewal (for Mexico) was approved, but needs to have an official government translation done that will cost an additional $50 or $60. They are presently on a 2 week Practicum Class in the mountains in the tribe where Hector proposed to Amy. After their Practicum, they will head to a couple of tribal villages where they will do a survey to see if one of these places would be where the Lord would have them locate to do tribal church planting. Amy is feeling better and not being sick as much as she was. They have found out that the baby is a BOY!!!
God has provided son-in-law, Brett with a full time job, and he continues to work part time at Grace Bible as well. Please pray for Brett and Debby to be able to manage their busy schedules and continue raising their girls to love the Lord, as well as continue his exercise program.
Member Services is a busy place these days. We are implementing several directives of the NTM Executive Board, as well as working through a new software program for our Personnel database. We are soon going to be implementing “Gravity” in the place of the NTM Administrative and Accounting system. Pray for us to have understanding and grace as we work through a time of double entry of information and a new learning curve. Thanks!
Later this month we will attend an open house for Florida Bible College of Tampa. David graduates from NTBI in May. June may take us to Missouri for the NTM Enrichment program for our missionaries on Home Assignment. Tim goes to NTBI in August. Amy’s baby is due in mid-September. Our summer will be a busy one! Please pray we will have wisdom as to all of these activities and what our part should be.
Thanks so much for your part in our ministry. W e appreciate your prayers so much, that support has been such a blessing. We thank the Lord for your partnership.
May the Lord encourage your hearts as you walk with Him,
George and Linda Heckman
