Because of the uncertainty of the future, it is difficult to make any plans to far ahead.  Please pray we would have wisdom in making future decisions.

What is next?

We have not given up on the field of Brazil and are looking into every option to get us down there as soon as possible.

The leadership in Brazil is also looking into every option on their end.  Two other couples were also recently denied, therefore MNTB wants to figure out what is going on.  We greatly appreciate all their hard work.  Currently, they are communicating with officials in the capital, Brasilia, to appeal our case.

Our first step is to wait and see what becomes of their efforts.  If Brazil will not reverse the original decisions, reapplying for Visas would most likely be our next step.

Please continue to pray for this situation.

Visas Denied

Posted by in Uncategorized on Nov 27th, 2007 | Discuss This Post |   Share

The Brazilian Consulate in Chicago rejected our request for a Religious Visa.  Because we want to eventually obtain permanent residency in Brazil, we must go to Brazil on a Religious Workers Visa (Vitem VII).

Please pray with us through this time. There are many emotions and thoughts running through our minds upon hearing this news. Above all, we know that God is Sovereign and able to lead and direct us according to His will.

The Waiting Game

Please pray with us as we wait on the news of our Visas. Please pray that our request for religious visas will be granted and that we will be able to set a date to leave in January.

Good News to Report!

Posted by in Uncategorized on Oct 24th, 2007 | Discuss This Post |   Share

We have been trying for about a month to apply for our Religious Visas for Brazil. Each time we made a trip to the Brazilian Consulate in Chicago, there was some obstacle or reason our application was not accepted. (Office closed, car trouble, missing form, etc.)

Well, we are happy to report that our applications are finally in the process to Brazil! Praise the Lord!

This does not mean we have been approved or guaranteed Visas, it only means our application is on the way to the officials in Brazil.

In about one month, we should find out the status of our request. Until then, we are playing the waiting game.

On the Road Again

We recently got back from a short trip down to Tennessee. We went to visit a supporting church down there and to share at their annual missions conference.

Although it was a bit of a drive, we really enjoyed our time and left encouraged.  It is awesome to see the Body of Christ work together for a common goal.

"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body."

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Please pray with us as we begin the Visa process for a Religious Visa for Brazil. This can take from three to six months. Please pray that the process would go smoothly, and that we are approved in a timely manner.

Our “Honeymoon”

Looking out at the City

We recently got back from a two-week visit to West Brazil. What a great experience for us, especially to experience together!

We spent our first week in the city of Manaus, which is home to NTM’s West Brazil office. Our time in the city was spent exploring, which meant lots of walking, experiencing the culture, talking with veteran missionaries, and meeting with some of the leaders there.

Gabriel was able to set up the paper work for our Brazilian Visas, which was a huge blessing. (More about our Visas later)

Our second week was spent at the school for missionary’s children. The school is on the edge of the Jungle and the Amazon River, quite the contrast from the city. Our future co-workers Kris and Mary-Jane Howe were also there. It was great to spend lots of time with their family.

More than anything, the trip solidified in our minds the desire God has put on our heart to reach the un-reached in Brazil. We are more excited then ever to head down there, in January of 2008, Lord willing!

Please pray for us we have many things on our plate and your prayers and encouragment would loved and appreciated.

Please Pray for:

Our walk with the Lord                                                   Rachel and my relationship over distance

I am so blessed and thankful to God to have brought Rachel into my life.  Now our lives will soon be joined together and be used for Gods glory in the ministry to Tribal people that have never heard the Gospel.

My fiance Rachel …

My Fiancee, Rachel Austin

Rachel was born and raised in Wisconsin.  It wasn’t until she was a freshman in high school that she put her faith in Christ.  A friend from her public school had led her to the Lord!

Her relationship with the Lord grew and so did her desire to be used in Christian Service.   After high school, she attended New Tribes Bible Institute in Wisconsin.  It was there her burden for the lost grew, as she saw God’s heart for the world throughout Scripture.
