On to Paraguay!

The Ayore church commissioned Ajitai and Gata to teach the Bible in a different village.

It seems the Lord is leading us in the direction of Latin America – Paraguay, to be exact. We thought you might like to read a few facts about the country and the type of work we would be involved in.

Paraguay was originally home to seminomadic tribes recognized for their fierce traditions. The oldest city in Paraguay was founded in 1537 by a Spanish explorer, Juan de Salazar. Today Paraguay is a democratic nation with unreached people groups that still need to hear the Gospel!

Landlocked between Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia, Paraguay is a country with tropical flora, evergreen forests and wide plains. The variety of wildlife includes deer, tapirs, alligators, armadillos, jaguars and many species of fowl such as parakeets, ibis, toucans and American ostriches.

New Tribes Mission would like to begin works in at least eight new tribes. These are mostly illiterate farming communities living in harsh conditions who have not heard the Gospel in their language. There are several works in progress in Paraguay as well, and it is encouraging to hear of the growth of these new believers… but there is more to be done before every tribe in Paraguay has access to the Scripture and solid teaching.

The Lord is not willing that any should perish! We thank Him for the opportunity to share in His vision with you.
