About

We are the Scholl Family.  Drew, Bobbi, Gracie, Malachi, & Annie.

Three years ago God began to prepare our family for a new way of life, but it wasn’t until March 2, 2009 that we knew what we were being prepared for.  Up until that point, God had put us through some tough tests of obedience and we found ourselves seeking the Lord at deeper levels in response to the perspective changing experiences.  The two years prior to the “call”, God began the process of transforming our thinking and shaping our hearts and minds into a position to be able to hear and accept what would forever change our lives.

I would like to make something clear, never in a million years would I have ever thought Drew and I would be missionaries in another country.  We had every detail of our lives planned out.  We had a wonderful home built, an excellent career in a family business with a very bright future, and we had everything mapped out for the next 25 years…so we thought.  God had a different plan.  A plan that would greatly impact our family and others close to us in ways we could have never imagined.

The morning of March 2, 2009 God put a call on our lives to go to the country of Papua New Guinea.  The crazy and confirming thing about this was the fact that God spoke clearly to both of us separately, but on the same morning.  Since that morning, we have been on a journey together learning what this new “call” looks like for us.    After all, God didn’t say what, when, or where at in PNG, or how long.  He simply said, “that is where I want you.”  I can’t begin to explain the emotions and thoughts that were going on the first several months as we were trying to discern what God wanted for us.  All we knew was, we would choose to say yes.  We simply were willing to go wherever, whenever and however, whatever the cost.

There is great peace and freedom in that.  There is also great cost…obedience is often costly.  But, we will never endure anything as costly as Christ has endured for us.  Our purpose, for all of us, is to go and make disciples and bring glory to Him who gave us life and freedom from death.  That looks differently for each one of us, but there is one thing that is certain; if you say you are a Christ follower, then you too are a missionary.  What’s keeping you from being obedient in your relationship with Christ?

“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”  Isaiah 48:17
