Del and Ezra

Del and Ezra

After a great deal of prayer, thought, many conversations, and wise council we decided to have Del visit Senegal for a two week trip at the end of August.  Our main objectives are to see what life might possibly be like, visit missionaries, visit local church leaders, and gain a vision for what God is doing in West Africa and how we might fit into it.  (more…)

The Glare of My Cell Phone

The glare of my cell phone

The glare of my cell phone

Once again the cell phone glares back at me and reminds me of all the people I need to call.  Every couple days I (Del) have a list of people to call in order to set up appointments.  I am making these contacts with people to see if they want to meet with us and hear about how they can be involved in reaching those who have never heard the gospel in West Africa.  The process is some times intimidating as I don’t know everybody I’m calling especially well.  As nervousness often sets in, I am reminded why I am calling people: so people can hear the Good News in their language-THIS is motivation! Partnership Development

Posted by Delwyn and Arielle Griffith on Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Griffith--145609-2Partnership Development is the process of finding a devoted team of people who will cheerfully (2 Cor. 9:7) support us both financially and prayerfully (or any creative way you can think of) to take the gospel to people who haven’t heard it in West Africa.

Now the question is: What does this look like day to day? (more…)

After 5 hours on the road we finally made our one mile descent down the winding road to the New Tribes Missionary Training Center.  The reality struck…our Cherokee practicum in Oklahoma is over.  Upon reflecting, it was well spent.  Although the task of learning an unwritten language is daunting, the task does not seem insurmountable.  Over the next three weeks I (Del) will be analyzing the Cherokee that was elicited.

-Pray for strength and endurance for Del as 8 plus hours a day analyzing can be draining, not only for Del but for Arielle who has to take care of Ezra.

-Del has the opportunity to preach at our church here in Missouri on October 24th.  Pray that the preparation time would be guided by God and that people’s hearts would be ready and moved by the word of LingPic1God.
