Ezra found my (Del) slippers on the floor and began trying to figure out how to place them on his little feet. I could see the gears turning in his little mind, “Now, how do I put these big things on my feet.” He continued struggling with the big slippers until finally, with a huge grin and much excitement, he managed to slide the slippers onto his little feet. On May 29th I, Arielle, turned 27 years young. I love birthdays, mine included! I don’t love them just for the delicious cakes my husband makes, or the gifts received (although I do love giving gifts), or because I get to spend time with some of my favorite people. Those are all delightful things, don’t get me wrong! Allow me to explain why.

Last Friday, we had some friends over for dinner and while they were here, Ezra stood up and started walking across the floor! He only took 5 steps, but we all watched in disbelief as those little feet took their first steps alone. (more…)
