About
~OUR MINISTRY~
Our Vision…
God has placed on our hearts a desire to take the saving message of Jesus to those who have never heard in West Africa. New Tribes Mission focus’s on that goal of taking the gospel to those who have never heard (Matt. 28:19-20). New Tribes Mission not only focuses on Church planting, but on making disciples and establishing Churches that will be able to operate and thrive once the missionary departs from the
people group. This is no easy task as it will take any where from 20-30+ years. We will go into a people group and learn their “heart language.” The “heart language” means they understand this language the best out of all the other languages they know. These people often know 2-3+ languages. We will focus on learning their “heart language” and culture very well, in order to clearly teach the Word of God to them.
We praise God that He has gifted both of us in different ways. Looking to the future, we want to describe what roles we could possibly fill. Arielle may be working with linguistics and figuring out the tribal people’s language. Arielle would have to figure out the language because in most places New Tribes Mission goes the language has not been written down. She would analyze and break down the language creating an alphabet and teaching the people how to read and write. Delwyn would like to be involved in teaching the Word of God to the tribal people. New Tribes Mission uses a method of evangelism called the chronological teaching. It starts in Genesis and chronologically
working its way through the bible covering important Bible stories. Then when the gospel is presented they have a clearer understanding of God, their sin, and their need for a perfect sacrifice who is Jesus. Now, if any of them become believers it is our desire to disciple and point these new believers to God and maturity in their new faith. Our job as missionaries will be completed when a tribal church has been planted with a pastor, elders, and tribal believers who can duplicate the same process we did with them among other tribes.
Right now we are in the process of building a team of people for this enormous task of taking the gospel to those who have never heard about Jesus Christ. We are thrilled to be taking part in the great commission as God prepares us. Lord willing, in March of 2012 we are planning on
going to Senegal, Africa to learn French which is the national language of many of the countries in West Africa. Will you consider partnering with us, as this task would be impossible to accomplish by ourselves. We are going to need a team of people to partner with us who are willing to be part of taking the gospel to those who have never heard. Do you want to be part of this team? If so, here is how: Give, Pray, or Go.
