Blizzard 2011

Posted by dean_mundy in Family, Ministry on Mar 3rd, 2011 | Comments Off

Blizzard February 2011–We had 17 inches of snow in 3 days!

As the snow covers and wraps around the landscape, may you feel God’s comfort and love for you in the same way.
MINISTRY
We are well into another semester with 200 students. Pray as they are learning the foundations for their Biblical beliefs and being challenged to give their lives in service to the Lord. Pray for us as we rub shoulders with the students to be an encouragement and blessing to them.Dean is teaching his Prayer Practicum class now, while continuing his work in the kitchen. Pray for him with the added work load. He enjoys singing on the Praise Team and in the choir at church.

Loretta is busy getting caught up on Library needs and overseeing the 12 students who work with her. She is taking a mini break from teaching her “Life Group” /Bible Study, because of health needs and the needs of our children.  Pray as they will be evaluating her class this summer and where it will fit in with the needs of the church for the fall schedule. She will be doing a couple of “dorm chapels” with some of the ladies (students). This week she is starting a 6 week Bible Study with some of the staff ladies.

Thank you so much for your faithful support, love, and prayers that make our ministry possible.

FAMILY
Our children leave our homes but never our hearts. And our hearts have been really heavy for our daughter Sharon. She and Bob are going through a divorce—they have two boys, ages 3 and 5. Sharon has recently lost her job.  Please be praying for her for another job and as she cares for the boys and the adjustments for all of them.

On a good note, Bill and Stephanie were married November 12th. We also have two new grandbabies due this summer! Anthony and Jessi are expecting another little girl the beginning of May and Bill and Stephanie are due in August. Pray for their pregnancies (both are not feeling too well), and for the new little ones for good health. Melissa has settled into a new job in TN and is doing well. She requests prayer for her ailing car.

Seventy-eight students graduated Saturday, May 16. The vast majority of these folks are going on through the rest of their training with New Tribes Mission.

Many will aid NTM in reaching our goal of 50 new people groups reached in the next five years.

We praise the Lord for these students lives and for the part we had in their education.

Two Grandbabies Born the Same Day!

Posted by dean_mundy in Family, Ministry on Jan 1st, 2008 | Comments Off

December \’07 & January \’08

Dear Praying Friends,                 Alexandria Palmer and Kyle Thompson

How we praise the Lord for the safe arrival of our grandbabies born to Bob and Sharon Thompson, and Anthony and Jessica Palmer! Both babies are doing well. Kyle has a condition called Torticollis, a muscle that was tight in his neck making it difficult to turn his head. With therapy, that is improving. Pray as they meet with the Neurosurgeon that he will be able to prescribe a helmet for Kyle to help reshape his head where it is flat in the back from having his head in one position. It has been great having Alexandria close by to catch her smiles, see the daily changes in development, and to give cuddles! And it makes us miss Curtis and Kyle even more!

Recipe for May

Posted by dean_mundy in Uncategorized on May 2nd, 2006 | Comments Off

Ever cook spaghetti for 220? How much food would you need? Well, just in case you ever do have to cook for that many here’s what you would do.

Brown 30 pounds of ground beef and drain.

Chop up about 4 medium onions and about 30 cloves of garlic.

Saute the garlic and onion and mix with the ground beef.

Take 2 number 10 cans of pizza sauce, 1 #10 can of marinara sauce, 1 #10 can of tomato puree, 2 #10 cans of tomato sauce, and a 50 can of tomato juice. Add some sugar to take off the acidity of the tomato product. Mushrooms can also be added.

Boil water and cook 18 pounds of spagetti noodles.

Serve with some breadsticks.

There you  have it!
