…Remembering Your Missionaries Children On Their Birthdays
Do our Missionaries Children appreciate Special Cards for their Birthday?
…"Thank you from my heart for this lovely card!"
And NOW to top it off:
Let’s remember our Missionaries Children as they grow up in a foreign land where their heart language is spoken mainly in their homes. Pray that they will have tender hearts and understand early who God is and the Simple Plan of Salvation and accept Christ as their own personal Savior.
Aché Singing a Hymn of Praise to the Lord
Jeremiah 51: 15-19 speaks of: "A Hymn of Praise to the Lord"
v.15: He made the earth by His power, and He preserves it by His wisdom.
He has stretched out the heavens by His understanding.

v.17: Compared to Him, all people are foolish and have no kowledge at all!
v.18: They make idols, but the idols will disgrace their makers, for they are frauds. They have no life or power in them.
v.19: But the God of Israel is no idol! He is the Creator of everything that exists, including His people, His own special possession. The LORD Almighty is His name!
…A Missionary’s Life is Full of Challenges!
When we first came to Paraguay, along with us came a "mimeograph machine" – A rotary duplicator that uses a stencil through which ink is pressed. That is how we did up our letters which were sent by way of "snail mail".
Our second term in Paraguay, we stepped up to bringing a portable typewriter with us.
Our third term in Paraguay, we stepped up to bringing a little NEC 8-lined portable computer that used basic and text documents. It took a casette tape to store our language materials from the little computer and to get it back onto the computer again.
To make a "long story" shorter, with all the new computer technology many of our missionaries have been able to produce language study materials, culture notes, books for teaching literacy, Bible Lessons, the Bible in tribal languages, better and faster communication with our families, friends and churches; sending updates about what is going on and how each one can pray much more effectively .
We are hoping that myMinistry website will keep you updated in a positive way and that you will check in often to see what we have added for you to read and see.
“Listen to this message from the Lord!”
The Queen of Heaven, if you check in most any commentary, is none other than Ishtar, Ashtoreth, or Astarte the very pagan goddess that Israel worshipped when they fell into apostasy and paganism.
Judges 2:13 - And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
So clearly, it was the practice of the pagan Babylonians to crown the statues of their gods.
This Pagan practice has also been adopted here in Paraguay … a direct violation of the Commandments of God:
Baal worship is sun worship, and Ashtoreth / Ishtar / Astarte is the queen of heaven. In many places in Paraguay, Mary is called the Queen of Heaven. It is the apostasy of idol worship of Baal and Ashtaroth in the church - It is as true today as it was then, just with different names.
Today, some 90% of this town in PY are praying to this idol that is crowned and locked up in a case that can neither feel, hear, see, talk, walk, nor answer their prayers … yet Satan has blinded their minds into thinking that she can hear and help them.
Over and over – time and again, God reveals in His Word how that He hates idol worship and that it won’t go unpunished. However, people all over the world are saying, "We will do whatever we want. We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and sacrifice to her just as much as we like — just as we and our ancestors did before us, and as our kings and princes have always done in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem."
“Bible Lessons are being printed in the Guaraní language”
Dear Friends…
We would like to invite you to visit our new web site with our New Tribes Mission. There are different sections that you can click on such as “Home”; “Family”; “Ministry”; “Photos”; “News”; “Subscribe”; and/or “Contact”.
Underneath the “Photos” are several different picture albums where you may enjoy 1, 2, 3, or even all of the pictures … depending on how much you like pictures and how curious to see what different locations and tribes in Paraguay were like (where we have worked at one time or the other in the past) and some of the typical things one could find in the country of Paraguay. Many of the albums have 3 pages of pictures. If you click on the “start slide show”, you can see the full size picture instead of just a small portion of each picture. Our web page is still new but it is a good way to keep you up on the “News”.
Most of you who know Mark & Odie Goddard have most likely heard they will be going to an area where Dean’s brother and nephews work. There they will be focusing on the Guaraní language and getting reacquainted with the Paï Tavyterã tribe. We look forward to having them on the eastern side of PY where we will get to see more of them and the grandsons when they buy their provisions from our town.
John & Barb Windler stay busy having classes with another group of Paï Tavyterã. Their little girl, Briana Jo will have her 1st. birthday coming up soon on the 5th of July. Their 3 boys are finishing up another year of school and will probably go out for a little vacation time in July.
Mike & Trisha Goddard are stateside at this time and will be doing quite a lot of traveling while there. Many were praying for Mike (during time he felt so ill) and he says he is feeling so much better. Thanks for praying for him! Trisha had successful Lasik eye surgery. Mike and Trisha also have a new web site with NTM. You can also find their updated web page: http://www.ntm.org/mike_goddard
Dean & Nellie Goddard continue working on the Bible Lessons in Guaraní. We are so grateful for the ones who so faithfully pray for us as we continue this project and ministry.
We always enjoy hearing from you and receiving your e-mails as well,
Dean and Nellie Goddard
Can you believe this group has been waiting some 14 years for land title?
The Aché Tribe …
The Aché Tribe seems to be in the news a lot these days in Paraguay. They have been trying to get the title to their land and after some 14 years even though it is rightfully theirs, there is no title in their hands to prove it. We spent 3 great hours with them at their camping place in Asuncion where they insist on remaining until the “government gives them their land title”. We were embraced with lots of hugs and sang some of our favorite hymns in Aché with them.
We were so happy we were able to be in Asuncion to see Mike and Trisha Goddard and their three children before they will be spending 6 months in the big USA. We also got to visit a lot with Mark and Odie Goddard and our 3 handsome grandsons and enjoyed that relaxing time so much with all of them.
John and Barb Windler are the parents of our other 4 grandchildren and we are looking forward to seeing them real soon also in PJC.
Our sincere thanks to each of you who so faithfully remember us in prayer and continue to pray for Dean and Miguel as they prepare lots of Bible Lessons in the Guarani Language.
Love and Prayers,
Dean & Nellie Goddard – Paraguay
PRAISE & PRAYER
Praise:
• For the good and profitable time spent in Asuncion.
• For health and strength to continue the ministry God has given us.
• We were able to see many Aché in Asuncion where they have been demonstrating concerning a land title.
Prayer Requests:
• For Miguel and Dean as we continue the revision of Phase 1 in Popular Guaraní Pray that Miguel will be able to set aside a block of time from his job to work exclusively on the lessons for a month or so.
• For Dean as he works on further lessons for believers; for guidance in producing lessons which are clear and simple.
• For Miguel and his ministry in the country and in correcting the lessons.
• For Mike and Trish Goddard on home assignment; Mike is very sick at this time (June 5) and they think it is dengue.
