I’m a little nervous about being out all morning for the orientation. The longest I’ve stayed out since my last hospital stay has been about two hours. …And that has been mostly sitting around.
About a week after I came home from surgery the first time I watched my diet very strictly and started getting out for short walks in about a week, gradually increasing the distance to a mile or a little more at a time.
At six weeks from surgery I was back in the hospital for almost a week and I learned that while eating a strict low sodium, low fat, low cholesterol diet I needed to eat more and exercise less in addition to just adjusting to normal living.
Now that I’ve had a couple weeks to adjust, Lord willing I’m ready to add some regular exercise back into my daily routine. In addition to the physical training I’m looking forward to the training on how to fine tune my diet to what I need to live an active outdoor life in a subtropical climate.
