We value teamwork.

We value teamwork.

Along with you and other best friends of missionaries online, there are also people who hate missionaries and would like to use online information to destroy God’s work.

In all forms of public communication, I work with our missionaries and departments to provide the best information to our friends without aiding those who oppose us.

The Communications writing team collects and publishes articles and prayer requests from around the world daily. Before anything goes online, I review the information to make sure it is accurate and does not pose safety concerns for the missionaries or people being ministered to. I also review the photos for quality and safety.

New Tribes Mission has dozens of email lists with a total of over 50,000 subscribers. I oversee the sending to many of these lists including improvements in content, delivery and usage tracking. I’m in the process right now of moving our current lists to a better service.

Providing individual missionaries with the tools they need to communicate effectively online has been central to my ministry since I began publishing webpages nearly 10 years ago. I now support over 500 missionary blogs; creating and editing them, answering email and providing a training and support Help Desk. Last week we introduced a new feature that allows missionaries working in remote locations to update their blogs through email.

In the last few years social media like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Vimeo have all become household terms. I started New Tribes Mission pages and channels for all these networks and manage them with the exception of Twitter. Facebook has grown by over 9,000 fans this year with dozens and often hundreds of interactions each week.

Training missionaries in internet safety, email lists, blogs and social media is an ongoing process. I provide one-on-one training frequently in my office, conduct many group presentations and travel a few times each year to other New Tribes Mission facilities.

Communication technology and best practices are in the constant state of change. In order to stay current I am continually reading and tracking how people use media and the tools we provide. Our team has many projects in progress at any given time to help you reach new tribes until the last tribe has been reached.
