This is a Christmas letter sent to our ministry partners. It is directed to them, but you may find some of this information interesting as well. Merry Christmas!
Dear Ministry Partner,
Thank you so much for being a faithful co-worker in reaching tribes with the Gospel. More than that, seeing mature churches established that are reaching out to the remainder of their tribe and surrounding people groups.
Through New Tribes Mission, Jesus Christ is becoming known and believed upon among a new people group every 50 days, and you are an essential member of that team. Additionally, three to four Bible translations are being completed each year. Your part in funding and praying for this endeavor is not less important than those who are actually doing the teaching and translation. The sacrifices you make do not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Many of the personal accomplishments of this past year are not easily measurable, but a few are. Moving 500 missionary websites from being custom programmed to blogs powered by WordPress was huge. David is now able to manage content on all these blogs, as well as provide technical support and a help desk blog with minimal assistance from other members of the communications team.
David has also started New Tribes Mission channels and pages on several social networking and video sites. Thousands of Christ-followers have been introduced to missions through short-films like CHANGED, FLIGHT, WAYUMI and AWAYO. The Facebook page for New Tribes (www.facebook.com/newtribes) has grown to over 6,000 fans. Posting content on these sites and engaging visitors has become a daily activity.
Our next major team project for 2010 has already started with the hiring of an industry-leading web design and development company to assist us with the next generation of NTM.org. What we have been using the last several years has helped generate millions of dollars, hundreds of new missionaries and prayer partners all over the world. As technology and the use of the internet continues to evolve, so does our need to adapt in order to be effective. In addition to daily responsibilities, this project will be a major focus of the first six months of 2010.
David’s major responsibilities on this project are content management integration and promotion through social networking. The NTM.org project is not only for NTM USA, but also for NTM Canada, NTM UK, NTM Australia, NTM Germany, NTM Holland, NTM Norway, NTM Faroes, NTM Italy and many other countries.
Economic influences and church policies have negatively impacted our ministry income this year. We are grateful to be able to continue to operating “in the black” with almost certainly a greater budget and security than Jesus felt was necessary for Himself. Our firm hope continues to be in the Lord Jesus and His ability to provide what He believes is necessary. Thank you for allowing Jesus to use you to enable us to serve as unhindered as possible.
Partners together,
