Katrina has been preparing to leave home for a long time. Not because she doesn’t like living at home, but she knows she is being called to live beyond herself.  When one of Katrina’s best friends from the Philippines sent an invitation to attend her wedding, it provided an excellent opportunity.  I’ll let Katrina tell her story from here:

“This past week I was able to travel up to Wisconsin to visit the Bible School that I plan on going to in August. I have been planning on going to this school since I was a little girl and so it was nice to just go and look around.

“I was able to get the full experience by sleeping in the dorm, eating in the cafeteria, and sitting through classes for two days. It was so wonderful to be able to meet some of the people and talk to them about the school. I’ve been able to learn so much more about it.

“The classes were wonderful! I was able to go to a Hebrews class, a Pentateuch class, Galatians, Old Testament History…  All of these classes were really wonderful because they took you through chronologically and showed you from the beginning what happened in each of these areas. The teachers seem really amazing. They really love their jobs and they aren’t just teachers, they love to spend time with the students and get to know them.

“As well as going to classes, I really enjoyed to just spend time with the students. When I first got here the kids were extremely friendly, but they all seemed really busy. As I spent more time at the school I realized that the kids did have time to just spend together doing fun activities, but it was something that they had to work for.

“I believe that I’m really going to enjoy coming to this school in August. It’s going to be amazing going through all the classes and learning so much more about God’s story. I will also really enjoy getting to make friendships that I believe will last my whole life. Being away from home will be a big adjustment, but I know God will help me through the hard things.

“Thank you so much for praying for me and caring about what God’s doing in my life. I will try and keep you updated as I move closer to my departure from home.”

It will cost Katrina about $16,000 to get this two-year Bible training.  Please start praying now for God’s provision for this important step in Katrina’s career missionary preparation.
