Discipleship is Multiplying

Posted by David Abbott on Sunday, September 25th, 2011

small-group-blogOver the last three years David has been teaching Firm Foundations: Creation to Christ in several different venues. Kristia has also been teaching a few ladies one-on-one.

Because we understand that Jesus has called us to make disciples and not simply get people to “make decisions,” it is important to us that those we disciple not only come to biblical faith, but become obedient to start making disciples themselves.

Kristia with Diana

I’ve been meeting with Janet for about three months now. At first we were covering one lesson each week. We’ve begun doing more lessons now because Janet has been so interested in moving ahead.

There are things that she has never heard before, like the fact that we are born separated from God and that we are not “all God’s children”.

Kristia and I remain committed to making disciples of every nation beginning with our own home and neighborhood.

Kristia Update

This last week was the first trip to California Kristia has been able to make since returning to the USA with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. Nearing the end of 2009, Kristia was able to start withdrawing from all medication and we are happy to be able to report that she is no longer on any prescription medication.

In Denver with the Rocky Mountains behind us.

Kristia and I had a great weekend in Colorado with our friends Bruce and Donna, and co-workers Rex and Linda.

The highlight of the weekend was a Bible conference featuring Bible prophecy, current events and exhortation.

It was especially timely for us, as we have been through a lot of family change and ministry stress recently. We feel very refreshed and ready to visit friends and ministry partners this week in Central California.

It’s not Father’s Day yet, but we did several things this last weekend that would have been good ways to celebrate.

Nearly every good weekend starts out with fishing. OK I’m biased, but Caleb and I caught a decent fish dinner Saturday morning once we discovered that bream were biting and not bass.

Twentieth Wedding Anniversary

Posted by David Abbott on Friday, June 4th, 2010

Two days at Daytona Beach hardly seemed long enough to celebrate 20 years of marriage.

It was a wonderful time getting to talk without interruptions, take walks on the beach and eat breakfast together.

We had so much fun that we decided we would keep celebrating our marriage even though our anniversary is over.
