Surgery check-up today

Savannah enjoying the beach Dec. 31, 2008.

Savannah has a check-up for her legs this afternoon in Tampa. The mobility she has with the “eight-plates”  is amazing.  The eight-plates serve as internal braces that never get in the way of her very active life.

Due to an inherited condition, Savannah’s growth is slower than average and her bones bow at the growth plates.  People often misjudge her age, but they quickly discover she has a very sweet personality, sharp wit and an incredible vocabulary.

One of the cutest things she does is, when praying for herself, makes sure God knows who she is by specifying “me, Savannah.”

Last night she asked to get in the pickup jump-seat while I was parking.  But before getting in she made sure it was OK if she carried a toad with her in her pocket.

Thank you for praying for us as we travel to Tampa today. Please pray for continued progress and direction for treating Savannah’s legs.
