PRAISE-A NEW GRANDSON

Lori’s kids
Lori has always wanted a farm and now she has a little bit of land which the children love. They can dig in the sand bank, swim in the river and play with all kinds of critters. The other day they found a baby turtle on the river bank. Right now they also have four baby kittens, 6 or 8 chickies, 2 baby rabbitts, 2 goats and I can’t even remember the rest of their little animals.
It is wonderful for them to see all of the things God has created. They are such a blessing and we thank God for each of them and for their sweet Mom and Dad. God is good!!
Liberty University
We are attending the Macedonia Call Missions Conference at Liberty University. this week. GOD is working here and it is such a blessing to see how HE is leading many to missions.
We will be speaking in various classes and trust this will challenge others to missions. The University now has over 10,000 students. It is such a blessing to be a part of this conference. There are 100 missionaries here from 40 different mission boards. We love meeting them and hearing their story. We each have a story that is unique yet GOD has undertaken for each of us in countless ways.
We will be here until the 23rd speaking in various classes and challenging others.. Thanks for praying!!
Sounds easy doesn’t it?? We …
Sounds easy doesn’t it?? We all have these things we are going to do but never get around to totally doing them, don’t we??
So……..now that 2008 has started I really need to start accomplishing those goals. It is easy to be sweeter to my hubby as he is the BEST….but there are those times I don’t feel sweet. At those times I need to ask GOD to help me have a Godly attitude and ask HIM to help me because in reality I can’t do it alone!!
Same thing for the other goals….reading the Bible more and spending time in His word. I am a missionary after all so this one should come easy. But honestly it doesn’t come that easy as things in life seem to just take the time away from the ONE thing that is really important spending time with HIM!!
Health………I am going to be eating better after all the Dr. told me I MUST but then once in awhile that little piece of candy or a sugar cookie just somehow ends up in my mouth. I need HIS help in this area. Exercise is also a must…now I do go to the pool a few times a week but I need to increase the time I spend there.
We don’t know what GOD has for us in 2008 but I do know that HE is going to go before me and HE will give strength for each day in every area of my life!!

Christmas from our Grandaughter’s view
We just received this note from our daughter, Lori and it sums up exactly what CHRISTmas is all about. Stone is our 7 year old grandson and he likes to know exactly when things are going to happen. Alyssa Belle is 4 1/2 and is our little thinker. She doesn’t usually say much unless it is something important. Here is Lori’s note and I know you will enjoy it and it will bless you this Christmas season as you celebrate HIS birth.
“Stone keeps taking one construction paper ring off a string of them so he knows how many days until Christmas. You know how he likes to know these things. He told Belle yesterday that there are 10 days until Christmas. She walks around for a while, then finally says to me, “There are 10 days til Jesus Day.” I said, “Yes, you’re right.” She pointed up and said, “How are we going to go up there?” I said, “Where?” She said, “You know, where Jesus is. Up there. How are we going to go up there for Jesus Day?”
So I told her it was His birthday and we’re going to celebrate it and all that. It was a big spiel about why we celebrate Christmas.
She listened well. Then she paced a bit and finally said , “So how are we going to go up there?!” ”
Isn’t that neat…….for a child will lead them!!
We wish each of you a blessed CHRISTmas,
Stops along the way
Literally.. I just wanted to sit down and do nothing. Dale headed over to the baggage area and I sat down by the rental car check out and felt like I could sit there forever. I was hungry, nauseated, dizzy and goofy (I know I ‘m that way anyway at times) but somehow made it to the rental car. We almost made it to the hotel before I was super sick. I don’t even remember very much about those days except I was super sick…couldn’t eat, had a horrible sore throat, fever and very dizzy. All of our plans were instantly changed and we had to figure out our next step.
Sometimes God has STOPS along the way for each of us and this definitely was one of our stops!! We tried to get up to Oregon to visit my mom and sisters. In fact we made it as far as Grants Pass and then realized that I just wasn’t going to get better without some kind of antibiotic. We called back home and my doctor called in a prescription.
Now where should we go, LORD….we still didn’t know if we should keep going north or to stay in the motel in Grants Pass until we could see mom. During the night I started thinking about my dear Dad and how much the ocean meant to him and also to our family. So in the morning I told Dale that if we can’t go and see Mom I’d like to go to the ocean. He agreed and God made a way and somehow led us to the perfect beach. It was SO, SO beautiful and restful and once again we could see GOD in HIS creation all around us!! The mountains were on one side and the ocean on the other. We were right where the Roque River comes into the ocean. It was totally amazing!!
It was such a blessing to do nothing except to soak in God’s glory. The waves and trees were all singing to HIM and it was a time of thinking about HIM. I was still sick but GOD undertook and I praise Him for the way HE has taken care of us.
How in the world are we going to pay for these extra nights at hotels? We don’t know, but we do know who holds tomorrow and we also know that HE holds our hands.
Friend from Brazil visiting
Esther Leal is visiting us for a few days from Brazil. She works with NTM of Brazil and has been with the mission for the past 7 years.
It has been a wonderful experience to have her here with us. She has really enjoyed her time with us and she has been a blessing to us.
Esther can read English and can understand quite a bit of English but still struggles to speak our wonderful, confusing language. She loves to talk to our 6 year old grandaughter, Katie. If Katie doesn’t understand her she just looks at her with a sweet smile on her face. Esther appreciates it as then she knows she didn’t say it correctly and tries again until Katie understands. It has been good for the little ones to be around her. From here she goes to our mission headquarters to attend a conference.
