The 4 C's Christmas 2011 in the Tropics
Our ministry can be summed up by 2 Timothy 2:2 where Paul tells Timothy to pass on to faithful men that which he has learned, so that they too may go and teach others who will then do likewise.
We are doing this as we partner with an evangelical national church here in Asia-Pacific. We are still in the beginning stages of helping this partnering church develop their Church Discipleship Center.
The first phase is our Foundations Bible Course, where we teach them chronologically from Genesis to the Ascension of Christ. In doing this we are laying a firm foundation for the Gospel of Grace. The next phase is taking them through this same teaching in a shorter time, but now with a different perspective. Before they were “shut out of the ark” and now they are “safe inside the ark”. We then take them through an overview of the book of Acts, teaching about the early church and the spread of the gospel message. This also lays the background for the various letters in the New Testament. We also spend some time looking at the Apostle Paul’s strategy in ministry.
After Acts, we then begin teaching some of the NT letters, starting with Romans and Ephesians. We want to help them truly be solidified in who they are in Christ Jesus. Once these lessons we continue on with Timothy and Titus, giving them some help in the area of “church leadership”. These teaching times are also interspersed with time ministering in local churches they have affiliated themselves with in the area.
