Fall 2010 – Commencement – Beautiful Feet

MTC-Grad-fall-2010-2st-originalAt the Fall Commencement 90  Beautiful Feet prepared for “bringing good news, proclaiming peace, bringing good tidings and proclaiming salvation” (Isaiah 52:7) to people groups around the world who do not know Christ. What a joy to see another 45 young people graduate from the Missionary Training Center for the purpose of giving their lives for the message of the Gospel.  Even though their formal training has come to an end they will continue to be trained practically as they trust God to raise needed financial support and then head to field where they will learn to adjust to a whole new way of life.

We praise the Lord for each life that He brought here for training and though they were here for only a short time, each one will be missed.  We look forward to hearing how God is using them in the next several years.  It is exciting to think of more people groups having the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel through these young people!

In partnership with you at the MTC (Missionary Training Center) Serving in Missouri, we have seen clearly God’s Hands working on the students preparing and shaping them for the ministry that God has among the Nations that never heard about our Lord Jesus.

Your partnership with us at the Missionary Training Center, trough prayers  is changing people, in fact, your partnership is TRANSFORMING LIVES!

Thank you for your prayers and support this year! God is using you to help train the next generation of cross-cultural church planters world-wide.

What will happen to me when I die?

PNG_Mibu__016-1024x682

“I’m very worried.”  The aging tribesman furrowed his brow and slowly shook his head from side to side.  He was a proud member of the Ngaing people.   But right now he was envious of his neighbors, the Mibu.   He had heard that the Word of God had come to the Mibu, and he thought about visiting them so he could learn what God wanted him to know.  But he understood only a few words of their language.

“Some day, someone may bring this message to my people so we too can understand.”

“But,” he wondered, “what if I die before then?  What will happen to me?”

The answer for him is still out of reach!

What will happen to him – and millions of other unreached people like him?

More than 100 people groups have asked NTM for help.   They have a desperate desire to learn the message of God’s Word.

“Please!  Send a team to live among us…to learn our ways and our language.   To bring us the message of God and help us understand!”

Their hearts cry out for help.

I want you to know how grateful I am for the role you are playing in sharing God’s greatest Gift and transforming so many lives in some of the most difficult areas on earth.

Your encouragement in prayer and financial support is like a shot of B-12 to us as we train missionaries who will work in remote tribes where lost, hurting and needy people will soon discover Jesus!

You have an opportunity to meet the urgent demand for new missionary teams to reach millions of men, women and children who desperately need the hope of Jesus Christ.

If you are not a part of our team yet, here’s what I’m hoping you will consider:

  • Join the “NTM team“.    Maybe God is leading you into missionary service for Him.   Maybe you just need to take the next step.    The time to act is now.    We must continue to train more eager missionary candidates for service.

  • Join our “prayer team“.   I want to invite you to pray for us.  Send us a message and we’ll add you to our prayer update list.   Together, we’re asking God to work in miraculous ways.  I’m asking you to consider sharing this ministry of training more missionaries among your family, your friends and your church family as well during this Christmas season.   The more people who are aware, the more there will be prayer!

  • Join our  ”give team.”   You can make a profound difference in the lives of unreached people groups.  Maybe you would like to partner with us on a monthly basis.  Or  you may have a habit of giving year-end gifts to favorite causes.   Let me ask you to consider making this ministry one of your Christmas or year-end gifts for 2009.

You joining our team in any capacity doesn’t simply help our family’s ministry.  Rather you are making it possible to train missionary candidates who are eager to complete their preparation for field assignment.

They will be able to effectively adapt to remote and different cultures and languages.

This will allow them to befriend and work among unreached peoples…

…which will permit those peoples to learn and understand the powerful, transforming message of God’s love and forgiveness…

…and will answer their heartfelt cry, “What will happen to me when I die?”

Thank you, in advance, for joining us as, Edna and I seek to help impact the lives of so many who still utter that question, not knowing that God’s Word provides the answer.

Our news

Dear Friends,

“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waited for him”.

                                                                            Isa 64:4

Truly, there is no other god besides of our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. As the prophet Isaiah said, this is the only God who gives many blessings to those who love him, and wait on Him. Nobody has ever seen or heard a god like the God of Israel.

God has blessed us with many kinds of blessings. He has blessed us in our ministry of discipleship with the new missionaries at Missionary Training Center. We always share with them about our lives and the experiences that we had on the mission field.  Check out the testimony of one of the missionaries who was trained here:

“In 2007, one of the village of Papua New Guinea heard the gospel, joyfully accepted it and many of them began worshipping the one true God who alone is worthy. Now these same believers themselves are beginning the literacy and gospel outreaches that are needed to reach the other 2,700 people who have the same language. Amazing!  Sometimes we get so busy in what we are doing that we forget to stop and look back and remember how the Lord has worked in our lives to equip us for the work He is doing through us. In light of that, we want to stop and thank the Lord for the great cross-cultural mission training we received through New Tribes Mission. We want to especially thank the staff that works at the training centers for the time they give to equip new generations of missionaries and for passing on their life stories and examples to those of us who are able to take and apply those principles to our own new works. We are also thankful for those who prayerfully and financially support these trainers and teachers as they work stateside. Their jobs may not be taking place on foreign soil, but they are no less impacting the world of tribal missions as their thoughts and ideas are spread throughout the world as they are implemented by the NTM students in many countries. The Lord is truly using them to give missionaries the tools they need to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.”

This should encourage us to continue serving the Lord in the work that He has given us.
In January we received information that we needed to pay almost two thousand dollars to start the process of our permanent visas (Green Cards). We were praying for that and by His Mercy the Lord provided all the money. We sent to the Immigration Office all the papers and documents that were needed. Please, be praying that we can have a favorable answer from them.

Also pray for our family, especially for Oseias (19), our son who is in College. This is his first year, pray for his adjusting.

Ozilia is still working in Florida. She is enjoying the work and the environment. Pray also that she can find a job of teaching.

Joice has been accepted at College of the Ozarks for next year.

We want to thank you for being part of our lives and ministry. May the Lord continue blessing each one of you with the joy for working for Him.

In His love,

Claudio and Edna Berto

Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also

Posted by in Uncategorized on Nov 8th, 2007 | Discuss This Post

where your treasure is?

We just got back from the MTC Youth Group Retreat. it was amazing with  very good time and lessons as well. The Speaker talked about how we should store up treasures in heaven, not on earth. Its a simple massage that we have all heard, but it was a great reminder. Like really a reminder and an eye open because we can easily forget.

He talked about Matthew 6:21 : "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" and that the treasures are the things we seek the most in life and how the word heart in its original text referred to the center of our feelings and emotions, so if our emotions are based on treasures of this world such as material things or desires, or even respect or acceptance from others, then our emotions are going to be "rollercostering" everywhere because those things are temporary,  instead our treasure must be something that doesn’t change, something that lasts. and of course that’s Jesus, then he went on to refer to the Bible as a "treasure map" leading us to the perfect treasure and to encourage us to pour over this "map" God has given us. The map thing sounds kind silly but its so true, that’s exactly what the Bible is. He was just a very powerful speaker, used lots of really good stories and illustrations, and you could tell it was coming from the heart.

Writen by one of the campers.

Claudio and I  felt  honored to be part of the MTC Youth Group Retreat Leadership! It had an awsome program, games and  the food was very well prepared and fresh.

Our prayer card

Dear friends,
We are very glad to be able to write to you sharing how God has been faithful to us and how He has used you in many ways so that we may continue working for Him. We praise the Lord for each one of you!
At the moment our ministry has been to train new missionaries to continue expanding of the reach of the Gospel until the last Tribe will be reached. We believe that this is God’s desire for His Church.
This semester we will have 50 new missionaries graduating from MTC (Missionary Training Center). Some of them are going to Africa, some to Asia and South America. We are very glad to be part of their lives helping and training them to take the Gospel to the end of the earth.
We are teaching French to two couples that are going to Africa. The Altmillers are going to Guinea Conakry and the Schillings that are going to Senegal. Both countries are French speaking language. The couples are being able not just to learn the French language but also the African culture with us.
We are expecting to have about 150 students for next semester.

Our kids, Oseias and Joice are very busy these days for they are about to finish the school. Therefore they are having lots of homework and also testes and finals. Please, pray for them. Ozilia, our oldest daughter, will come home for one week and then she goes back to work for the College work program, which will help her to pay her next school year.
Please pray that the Lord might give us wisdom in our ministries.
Pray for our financial support to be increased.
Pray for the new missionaries that are graduating in the end of May.
Pray for our kids so they might be able to finish well the school, and always seek the Lord’s will for their lives.
We praise the Lord for the privilege to serve Him with you.
Lord may continue bless you and yours for His Glory.

Serving Him Together

Dare2Share event!

Posted by claudio_berto in Uncategorized on Feb 11th, 2007 | Discuss This Post

Oseias and Joice

9000 youth came from all across the midwest…

1500 accepted Christ as their Saviour…

415 churches equipped…

26 tons of  food were collected for the city…

A new generation of students were trained on how to share their faith in a very easy way using the GOSPEL Journey and then were unleashed on the city of St. Louis.

Find out more about how you can be equipped by clicking on>>>>>>>GOSPEL JOURNEY!

Oseias and Joice,  with 100 others from the Lake of the Ozarks, attended the Dare2Share conference. The conference was incredible but seeing thousands of youth interested in the Gospel was energizing. We were so proud of all of our MK’s from our campus who were equipped and energized to share the GOSPEL message with so many people.

Pray for each of our students who attended and also the Dare2Share ministry and all of us here at the Missionary Training Center as we prepare students to GO WIDE with the Gospel message to unreached people groups around the world.

Go to: http://www.gregstier.org/rants/i-love-st-louis and read what others are saying about their time in St. Louis>>>>>>>>Dare2Share!
