Missionaries to the Ga'dang

About

We arrived in the Philippines in 2005 and first served as supply buyers for Northern Luzon.  About a year later we moved to Manila and began Tagalog language and culture study.  As we were nearing the end of language study we began to seek the Lord as to where He would have us serve.  The Lord then lead us to the Ga’dang people of Northern Luzon.

After a 9 month furlough in 2008 we returned to the Philippines and began the process of locating in a village among the Ga’dang.  We moved north to a town that made it easier to access our village.  First we began building our co-workers house, Christina Canapp, and when her house was finished we began our house.

We moved into our village in August 2010.  We have continued to work on the house as it was not finished when we moved in.  We have also been in full time Tribal Language and Culture Study.  This means spending 8-10 hrs a day either with the Ga’dang people or reviewing what we have been learning at home.

Once we are proficient in the language and culture we will begin translation of the Chronological Bible lessons.  After that is complete we will begin teaching the Ga’dang people about God and how He sent His Son to die for them.  We look forward to this day very much.

Now there is Jenna. (don’t remember how to put a picture on right now)  She is 18 months old.  She is loving living in the village.  As she gets bigger some of her favourite words are Ga’dang words.

Currently our kids are homeschooled by mom.  It is challenging to meet everyone’s needs each day but it has been a blessing to teach the kids.  We have had 2 young ladies teach our kids at home in the past.  We would love to have someone else come and teach them again.  We look forward to whomever the Lord brings along to help teach our kids in the future.
