Exploring More of Mexico

A river, trees, grass, and humidity - Felt like home!

Recently,  were asked to help move fellow missionaries, Juan and Dorothy Miranda, further south in Mexico to begin their tribal ministry with the Cora Indians. We traveled out of the state of Chihuaha, through the state of Durango, and into the state of Nayarit. The trip included a passage of time on what is called “The Devil’s Spine”. A twisty, switchback section of roads in the mountains of southwestern Mexico that was made even more interesting with rain and fog and hundreds of 18 wheelers!!

Nayarit felt a bit like home – complete with grass, trees, and lots of humidity. Chris was excited to learn that fishing is a popular past time there.  On the way back home we spent the morning in Mazatlan – a popular tourist beach area. The trip included a great deal of travel time, but the fellowship was sweet.

Please pray for the Mirandas as they start their tribal work – which begins with finding a home, getting to know the area, and meeting lots of new people.

Brickyard Ladies Go Bead Shopping

Brickyard Ladies Go Bead Shopping

Rachel continues her ministry at the Brickyard teaching the Tarahumara Indian ladies how to make different types of more modern jewelry to sell.  One day this summer, Rachel and a few other missionaries were able to take the ladies into town to shop for beading supplies. The money to purchase items for the ladies was provided by various churches and individuals. The donated money also purchases bead supplies and organizers for the ladies. The ladies were very gratiful for all they were given and are working hard to make more craft items to sell! Brickyard Ladies Given Donated ItemsPlease pray for the ministies at the Brickyard.  There is a weekly Bible club as well as literacy classes being held here. There is hope to start a youth group there as well!  The missionaries who work at the Brickyard are constantly finding ways to improve the living conditions there; such as a water filter for clean water!
