Prayer for Kisi and Tibun
Will you pray for our friends?
This is a picture of our friends and co-workers in the village. The man is an amazing Bible teacher and youth leader in the village church.
It’s been a rough year for them. Just like families the world over, our tribal friends deal with the very real issues and heartache when their children turn away from what they know about God and live their lives in rebellion.

The Best Laid Plans…

Banwaon Bible Teachers
If there is one thing living on the field has taught us, it’s: BE FLEXIBLE!
We had plans to be in the village by now, getting all the news from our friends and the daunting task of getting our house back into order after our furlough. There was a very tight time slot to get this all done as Chris is scheduled for time for additional training overseas for his new position here on the field. After all that was accomplished, we had planned to come out of the village to set up our house in town. Chris’ new position requires that he have continuous phone coverage for all the works here. Of course, living in the middle of the rain forest prohibits that, so we continue to maintain the house in the village, as well as establish a home out in town. I might repeat that was our plan.
Returning to the Village – SOON!
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Romans 1:8-12 KJV
Oh how we relate to this passage, especially now. The reasons are many and the desire is to be on separate sides of the globe – at the same time.
Coming down to Earth

Winging Back across the Globe
As global missionaries, we get to spend a fair bit of time looking at things from the vantage point of this photo. We recently returned to the Philippines, traveling high above the earth where everything outside seems so pristine and far removed from the problems that we know are below. I can imagine that is the reason birds just soar – for the sheer fun of it, just because they can – to leave the dirt below. I am pretty sure that is what makes birds so arrogant.
We are are learning much. God has carried us to some pretty divine highs. Knowing us as He does, He manages just the perfect balance between these and the ‘flat on our face’ moments that He weaves into our lives, bringing us into just the place He would have us. We so thank Him for bothering with us at all!

Congratulations Brent!
We had the great privilege of attending the graduation exercises of Central Baptist Theological Seminary the last week we were in America. Brent walked the stage earning his master’s degree!
We were already on the field in the Philippines when he graduated from college, so this was a thrilling event for us! Also a great surprise. Our God is never surprised and that is a wonderful comfort for us as we go about planning strategically for us to be in America during home assignment. It’s our desire to try and participate in some of the very important family events if we can know them in advance. That seems totally easy when it’s a graduation, right? Not for the Strange Family!
Oh the fleeting time…

We just can't hold onto it!
Our stay here in America is fleeting and before long we’ll be winging our way towards the Philippines. The months were packed and now we must be too!
He is risen!
He is risen indeed!
We praise the Lord Jesus Christ today for His great sacrifice and love for all people, tribes and nations.
We praise Him for the many drawn to His saving grace from all races, cultures and brokenness freeing us from ourselves and the grip of sin to celebrate Easter as brothers and sisters the world over.
We praise Him for purchasing us with His own blood, forgiving all sin, delivering us as He promised, the way He foretold, triumphing over death on the cross, and walking out of that tomb!
Please pray with us for those yet to hear and for those yet to share.
Surgery Update

first measurement of curl...a good start
Surgery over, physical therapy has begun with Chris carefully following the instructions from surgeon and therapists. We praise the Lord for such progress so quickly. His hand has been stiff for so long and we are told it will be a long recovery, but we thank the Lord for the encouraging progress after only two days!
At Home

Christian Joy
Christian Joy’s parents traveled on foot, motor bike, jeepney and bus for two days to get out of the jungle to the city hospital. His fever raged and he became unresponsive during the trip. The exhausted family arrived in the city at midnight where the hospital staff worked diligently to assess his condition.
King for the Day

PR's 31st
As a family tradition, on our birthdays, we become “king/queen for the day” and spend the whole day doing what we want and making the decisions for when and where we celebrate. March 8 was PR’s time to be “king for the day.”
