It was a beautiful day when our son Brent started home from work on his bike. Seven minutes into the ride, sudden tornado force winds whipped debris from trees, gravel and dust into a swirling curtain making it impossible to continue. The closest shelter was a brick and concrete sign. The 7′ x 5′ sign looked like a safe haven to wait out the storm. But instead of protecting him, the sign failed to withstand the strong wind and toppled over onto Brent. He raised his arms to try to hold back the 500 pound sign only to hear them snap under the weight.

We had the great privilege of attending the graduation exercises of Central Baptist Theological Seminary the last week we were in America. Brent walked the stage earning his master’s degree!
We were already on the field in the Philippines when he graduated from college, so this was a thrilling event for us! Also a great surprise. Our God is never surprised and that is a wonderful comfort for us as we go about planning strategically for us to be in America during home assignment. It’s our desire to try and participate in some of the very important family events if we can know them in advance. That seems totally easy when it’s a graduation, right? Not for the Strange Family!

first measurement of curl...a good start
Surgery over, physical therapy has begun with Chris carefully following the instructions from surgeon and therapists. We praise the Lord for such progress so quickly. His hand has been stiff for so long and we are told it will be a long recovery, but we thank the Lord for the encouraging progress after only two days!

PR's 31st
As a family tradition, on our birthdays, we become “king/queen for the day” and spend the whole day doing what we want and making the decisions for when and where we celebrate. March 8 was PR’s time to be “king for the day.”

God allowed us some GREAT family moments with Brent and Tonia and our two little granddaughters!
Jaiden and Naomi were up to the task of filling our lives with joy and it was wonderful to sit and talk with Brent and Tonia. We spent just a little over one week with them as they graciously opened their home and lives to us, putting aside their incredibly packed schedule for us. They shared some exciting news!

We just received the wonderful news that our grandson, Neo, is soon to get a new birth certificate showing his last name as Moffit!
Josh and Belinda Moffit, missionaries working with the Tala Andig tribe, allow us to be grand parents of their three delightful children. God gave Neo to them through adoption and we have prayed and cried and agonized with them through the long adoption process. Praise the Lord with us as you read their own words below:

A brother in the Lord has offered to look at Chris’ hand.
BUT this isn’t just any brother!
This wonderful offer has come from a doctor.
BUT not just a doctor. A surgeon.
BUT not just a surgeon - a HAND SPECIALIST!
And we have never even met him!
God is GREAT, isn’t He?
Praise Him with us!
Don’t panic! This is his old surgery picture.
