Give thanks to the Lord!  Call on His name!  Make known His accomplishment among the nations!  1 Chronicles 16:8

There is so much going on and we can’t wait to share it with you.  We have been to so many amazing places and have met so many people that have touched our lives.  We have been so blessed and encouraged along the way…there is nothing quite as nice as the fellowship we share with other believers.  We are so grateful for the people that the Lord has brought into our lives, we serve an Awesome God!   We are working on our November Prayer Letter so we’ll wait to share some details in there!

Look Who’s Driving!

On October 16th Garrett turned 16!  We took him for his permit and he passed…YAY!!!

Of course we let him drive to his Gramma’s from there which was a not far from the DMV.  He did GREAT for the first time behind the wheel.  I think it helped having Bill and I so relaxed  about it.

He was the worse backseat driver I know…he made me nervous!

We ordered some pizza and wings and invited some family and friends in

Grace's Jag!

but the highlight was when our friends came and Grace let Garrett take her Jag for a drive :)

I wish the picture came out better…Garrett had the biggest grin! :)

What a great day we had and we also woke up to snow that morning!

A little side trip!

On Wednesday we left home around 2:30 for a missions conference that we were to share at at 7:00 pm.  It was a wonderful night and a great time of fellowship with dear brothers and sisters in Christ.  Bill had reserved a room in Cobleskill, NY for that evening knowing it would be a late night.  Thursday we headed to see dear friends and their boys near Albany…little did we know that when we left there in the afternoon that we would get this bright idea to just keep driving.  We headed to Vermont and drove around there just enjoying Green Mountain.

That night we traveled as far as Massachusetts to stay the night.  Friday morning leaving the motel I realized that we weren’t far from Yankee Candle factory!  Bill, the wonderful husband that he is, stopped so that I could walk around and tour the place.  Him and the boys were not thrilled but endured it anyway.  I even made my own candle with my favorite scents!

We continued on our way and went to Connecticut where Bill had been wanting to go all along!  What’s in Connecticut you ask?  Cabela’s of course!  If you don’t know what Cabela’s is, it is the biggest hunting, fishing and outdoor adventure store.  I look at it like a big zoo but all the animals are stuffed and don’t stink.

The highlight of our trip was on our way back home we stopped in Newburg, NY to the Orange County Choppers shop!  It was pretty cool to see where they film the show and just walk around the store and check out all the bikes.

God is so good to us!  We have been so busy lately and our weeks and weekends are filling up…it was so nice to be able to get away for a bit!

It is well with MY soul!

What a privilege to wake up in the morning knowing that the One who created the world, the One who holds the stars in place, the One who gives us air to breathe has special plans for us.  Each and every day I count it joy to sit at the Lord’s feet, to adore Him, to worship Him, and to cast all my cares on Him knowing that He cares for me.  I woke this morning with a heavy heart and as I started to share my burdens with the Lord, I knew that He is the One who can be trusted with every area of our life, our present needs and our future plans and all of our loved ones.  Horatio Spafford famous song “It is well with my soul” came to mind.  I thought I would share it with you today.  I hope that it encourages you as much as it did me.  Psalm 146:1-2 says, 1 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! 2 While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

1. When peace, like a river,
attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot,
Thou hast taught me to say,
“It is well, it is well with my soul”

If home is where our heart is than we’re out of place!

apt It might sound rather strange to you but for us it is a very real emotion.  We are homesick for a place that we have never been.  When we graduated from New Tribes Mission Training Institute we prayed about a departure date and set one…then our hearts turned toward the Lord and said…”in your timing Lord, you know best!”

We have been in New York {the state we were both born and raised in} for four months now.  We are surrounded by family and friends and yet still feel very much alone.  The Lord has not called us to settle here but has called us out of here and to a land that we are not familial with, one that we have never gone, a language we’ve never heard, a people group we have never met.  Than why are we drawn there?  Because we desire to be obedient to the Lord and He has burdened our hearts for this place…for these people.  When we seek Him with all of our hearts, soul and mind He promises to give us the desires of our heart.  Our desire is His desire and He wants to see the people groups in Papua New Guinea turn to His Son, Jesus Christ!  The Lord ” is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”  2 Peter 3:9b

We are encouraged that  ” Faithful is He Who is calling you {to Himself} and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it {fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you}.  Brethren, pray for us.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 24, 25  {Amplified Bible}

Hey there!  I hope if you are stopping by to check out the new site that you check out all the links.  Down the right side you will see “About” there you will find our testimonies.  “Our Family”  will give you a brief summery of us.  “Our Ministry” also just gives a brief blurb of what we may be doing in PNG.  That will be updated once we are on the field.  Well hope you have a nice visit here, be sure to check back frequently so you can keep up to date on what the Lord is doing in our lives.

Thanks for stopping by our new site.  We hope that through this site many will be able to keep updated with what the Lord is doing on our behalf for His glory.  We are excited to share our ministry with you that the Lord has called us to in Papua New Guinea {PNG}.  In the days and weeks ahead we will be posting more info. and keeping you informed as we prepare to head to PNG in January 2010!
