Hi There!  We are still here and excited that we figured out how to put pictures on our site.  If you look over to the right of your screen you will see a picture…click on it and it will take you to our photo album!  We hope that you enjoy seeing our lives now as well as hearing!

This is a picture of Bill with his language helper…Charlie!  They have already begun to build quite a relationship…What a blessing he is to Bill, he enjoys talking to Bill and they love to spend time together.  There is a building project that they are about to start and Bill and the boys are going to help them out!

They took us up and over so we got to see the Arctic Ocean!

It was beautiful!  The one temp. they showed from there was -71

The fastest speed recorded was flying over Canada 620 mph

The coldest was -82 {picture below}

Flying into Hong Kong was beautiful.  It was a very long trip and Bill, Jake and I only sleep a few minutes here and there…Garrett however slept a long time :)

We’re glad the 15 hr. and 39 min. flight is over…it was really long!  We are excited about the next few hours and we arrive to our final destination…our new home!!

3 boys

We had a GREAT trip to Canada.  It was so refreshing and relaxing.  We had a great time seeing many of our dear friends…we would have loved to stay another week to see more people but we really needed to get home.

We hit the ground running once we were back in New York.  We received word on shipping our belongings so we needed to get back and get to work.  The boys had fun hanging out with Titus all week and the New Tribes Academy that the boys attended during our training gave the kids a “Snow Day” while we were there.   We got our taxes done and we sat down with the tech guy up there and he helped us put our order in to the New Tribes Tech Center for our water filtration system and the transformers that we need to take over to PNG with us.

The hardest part about the trip was saying our good-byes.  We tried to say “see ya later” but those are really hard too!  Jake and Titus got really close while we were in training and we thank the Lord for him and his family.  The great thing about these friendships is that they will last forever…as believers we will be in Eternity with our Lord!

Our Home away from Home!

snow pic 1

We had hoped to get to the New Tribes Mission Canada where we went through training before we left for the field…we made it!

It seems so good to be back here.  Pulling into the drive there was a sense that we were home.  We lived two years of our life here and made some lifelong relationships at this place…what a special treat to be able to come here and spend some time with everyone before leaving.

Bill wanted to be able to work on some of the building expansion projects while we were here.  Today he had the opportunity to go snowmobiling for the day.  Jen has enjoyed catching up with friends and sitting in on some classes.  And Garrett and Jake are spending as much time as possible with their bestest bud…Titus!

We’ll post some more pics in a couple of days!!

God’s Perfect Timing!

Passport Cover

“Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.”  Psalm 135:3

We sent out our passports to the Embassy to get stamped in September…with the thought that we’d have them back in 10 days or so.  In the meantime we had our hearts set on leaving for the field in January and everything would work out smoothly :) !

Things have worked out smoothly…they worked out God’s way and in His perfect timing.  With the shipping details not being worked out and our monthly support still low, our passports seemed like a little thing to worry about.  While the Lord worked out and continues to work out some details there in the mail were our passports!

I had been thinking about how if we had those passports back in October it would have been so hard to wait patiently on the other details.   The Lord is moving us forward at this time and we anticipate our move to PNG in March.  There are some things that we need to have in place before we go but we serve an Awesome God and know that He is in this and with us.

Praise Him with us…To God be the Glory

Will you pray with us!

We woke Monday morning to find this letter in our emails.

We want to run something by you.  Would you be interested in helping us out with and urgent need that has come up on our regional team.  We have an urgent need for a Supply Buyer.  This is a key role to our support center and really plays a vital part in keeping the bush missionaries in their ministries.  I know it is a bit of a shift in mindset, but it would only be a one year temporary change.  Our current supply family is going on Home Assignment for one year starting in July.

If you guys are open to this change – we would want to see you arrive by March 18, 2010 as is planned.   You would need to get right into the E2 program {National Language and Culture Study} and try to get as far along as possible before June.  In June you would then orient into the supply department so that you could take over this job.  You would be working with another person in this department so you would not be on your own.  The role is divided and the other person is a single lady, so we picture her handling the bookwork and computer work.  Bill would be in charge of all the physical aspects of the supply department.  The neat thing about this position is that there are lots of opportunities for Jen and your boys to jump in and help out.  It really is a family ministry in many ways.

We have already responded to this and would love to fill this need.  Our hearts desire is to help in any way we can to see these indigenous churches planted.  Please pray with us that if the Lord would have us move into this ministry that we would be able to get to at least 50% of our recommended monthly support.  At this time we are about 17% short of that goal {$1,200 per month}.  Pray that we see this need come in by mid-February so that we will have time to buy our plane tickets.  We have seen God work in GREAT ways in the past and we are trusting Him for this as well knowing that He is ABLE!

goose hunting

Bill has loved hunting deer and turkey for many years.  For the past couple of years he has been wanting to try goose hunting.  A friend of ours took him out this past week and Bill LOVED it!  They went two days in a row.  The first day they gave the farmer who’s land they were hunting on the geese they shot but the second day he brought home three.  We can hardly wait to eat these Canadian geese.  I just got a recipe so I’ll have to let you know how they taste :)

tree

Planted by the rivers of water…

As we delight ourselves in the Lord we pray that we will be …”like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.  Psalm 1:3

Excited about 2010!

family

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 37:4

We are so excited for the new year and all that the Lord has for us.  With so many changes ahead we are excited to embrace each one that the Lord walks us through.  He has shown us that He is our Provider!  He is our Strength!  He is our Comforter!  He is our Peace!

We are excited about gathering a group of friends and spending the weekend at New Tribes Wayumi Program.  If you would like to learn more about going with us please email us we would love to have you join us!

Jen has been feeling much better especially once she had a visit to her Chiropractor.   We thank you all for your prayers you have been so encouraging to us.  If this terrible migraine was to show us the group of people who surround us to pray and encourage us than it was all worth it.  We had no idea the group of people that the Lord has brought into our lives who truly love us and care.  You are all such a blessing!

As we pour over Scripture we are drawn closer to the very heart of God and His passion toward missions and seeing every people group hear the Truth of His Word.  We are humbled by this challenge that He has laid out before us.  What a privilege to be apart of serving the Lord and as we look to Him with all our heart and soul and mind we find ourselves captivated by His AWESOME Power!   Our only response is to Praise Him!  “Praise the Lord!  For it is good to sing praises to our God; For is is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.”  Psalm 147:1
