Isn’t it amazing how our minds have turned toward weather throughout the States this year? It has been traumatic to read of tornadoes, floods, cyclones, blizzards, earthquakes, and now blasting hot temperatures. Doesn’t it cause you to wonder if the earth is reeling under its load of sin? The Bible tells us to look up when these signs come to pass because our redemption draws nigh. No one knows the time or the day when the Lord will return, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if this is the year? I know I don’t remember ever seeing so much crime or so much hatred among people.

But, in spite of all the horrible news, we continue to read good news each and every day!   More and more unreached people groups are hearing the Word of God in their own tongue and many are understanding, for the first time, what God has done for each one of them. It is a thrill to hear how many are turning to the Lord! He continues to build His church in these very troubling times and this encourages our hearts. Have you ever considered the part you are playing in getting the Gospel around the world? You are part of this great team!

Our pastor talked today of hearing how it takes seven people to stand behind each soldier in today’s wars.   Seven people! When he said that, I began to think of our missionaries working around the world. If it takes seven people to stand behind each soldier, maybe there are more standing behind each missionary: givers, prayer groups, office personnel, families, buyers, pilots, teachers, and probably many more we can’t even name.

Thank you so much for being an important part of our team. We know, without a doubt, we could not continue if it weren’t for you. We know you are also a team member for other missionaries! We praise the Lord for your love gifts and for your heartfelt prayers! A friend called the other day just to say she was praying for us—how humbling to know we aren’t forgotten before the Throne of Grace!

We pray the Lord’s protection over you these days as you face the unknowns. The Lord’s rich promises are still available and up-to-date!
