Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!!

Posted by bart_allen on Monday, March 26th, 2012

Right now we are in the thick of making tons of decisions with our team about our future tribal church planting ministry!  Will you please pray for our team as we discuss a myriad of different topics that are vital to the goal of seeing a church planted among an unreached tribal group?

We made the trip again to another part of PNG (and another NTM support center) where the other two families on our team are living.  We will be here until the beginning of April and we are trying to make the most of the time we have together.  We are making good progress, but at times the magnitude of all that has to be talked through and done before we can move into a tribe is overwhelming! Here’s Our Team!

Posted by bart_allen on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

For several years now (dating back to our time in the New Tribes training in Jersey Shore, PA and then also in Missouri) we have been asking the Lord to provide a good team for us to join in this effort to take the Gospel to a tribe of people who are still unreached.

Our Team - From left to right - Allens, Parrys and Hattons

We are very joyful, thankful and praising the Lord that He has recently answered that prayer!!!  (more…)

God's Word in the Gende language

God's Word in the Gende language

The picture here doesn’t mean much to the vast majority of people in the world.  But for a small group of people in the Gende tribe tucked away in the rugged mountains of PNG,  it means the world – it is a portion of God’s Word in their language!   One of those Gende people is a young woman named Agnes. God Answered – Now What?

Posted by bart_allen on Friday, September 2nd, 2011

We serve an amazing and loving Lord who cares about the things that concern His children!! Many of you have been praying for us about the decision regarding joining a tribal team that we have been investigating over this past year. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! We have seen the Lord clearly answer those prayers!!  But not exactly in the way that we (and maybe some of you) expected. (more…)

Mail for Caleb

Posted by bart_allen on Thursday, March 10th, 2011

A few weeks ago, at 6 weeks of age, Caleb received something in the mail that gave him special distinction in the Allen family!  He became the member of our family who received his passport at the earliest age!

Doesn't he look excited?

Now we’re just waiting for his entry permit (visa) for Papua New Guinea and we’ll be all set for our return on May 11.

Back in PA

Posted by bart_allen on Friday, December 3rd, 2010

After a long, fairly smooth and uneventful trip, we are settling in to life in snowy Pennsylvania again!!  Thank you for praying for us as we prepared to leave Papua New Guinea and then as we traveled.

Here are few photos of our trip:

A few funny things that have happened since we’ve been back:

- Bart having to consciously keep to the right side of the road while driving

- Titus talking in his sleep – in Pidgin!

- Luke being excited to find coins on the floor at Walmart and other stores

- Emily finding out that Walmart in our town no longer carries maternity clothes – we had to travel 45 minutes to find a store that did!

It’s good to be home again.  Now that we are all sleeping/being awake at the correct times, things are feeling more normal!

Praise – New Tribal Team

Posted by bart_allen on Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Many of you know that a few weeks ago Bart was part of a team helping two families move into a new tribal work.  They had tried back in January to move into the tribe but the weather conditions made it too dangerous for the helicopter to land so they had to delay their move until the beginning of March.

We just wanted to let you know that the two families are now moved in to the tribe and are getting adjusted to life there. Bart even had the chance to go into the tribe for a few days to help with some building projects in their houses!   To see more photos, visit our recently updated photo page.

Thanks for praying!  Through your prayers, you have a part in the spread of the Gospel to unreached tribal people!
