Prayers Needed!

Posted by Amy Heckman in Uncategorized on Mar 17th, 2012 | Discuss This Post

Please pray, it looks like Hector will be going for his visa interview next week or very soon after!!  We greatly appreciate your prayers that he will get the visa and that all this will bring more glory to God!

God has been teaching us so much about trusting in Him, and although hard at times, it’s exciting to remember that the one that is in control of this situation and it’s outcome, is the same one who delivered Daniel from the lions den, who parted the Red Sea, and who loves us and sent his Son for us.  Thanks so much for praying with us!

We Have a Date!!

Posted by Amy Heckman in Uncategorized on Feb 23rd, 2012 | 1 Comment »

Have you ever planned a wedding or dreamed of planning one?  How was it for you, exciting and enjoyable, stressful and full of decisions?  Well it definitely has been an adventure for Hector and I.  Thankfully, God is so faithful and has answered so many prayers.  So, here is the plan (Lord willing, and flexible if God directs differently :) ):

  • End of May I finish teaching here and we go to FL
  • June 9th Wedding in FL
  • Late June to early August traveling and giving Hector the privilege of meeting many of you
  • Early August back to Mexico
  • August 11th Wedding in Mexico (for our family and friends that can’t make it to FL)
  • August 20th Start the missions training at Rancho Siloe here in Mexico

As you might have guessed lots has happened for us to have these answers and plans.  We are both learning a ton about each others culture.  It’s exciting to plan a Mexican wedding when I’ve never even been to a “typical” wedding here.  We are so blessed to have family and friends coming alongside us and helping us out!

School and English classes continue to go well.  I am so thankful for these opportunities!

  • Praise: for the answers and direction
  • Praise: Hector got his Mexican passport!
  • Pray: For Hector to get the necessary visa and permiso to travel this summer (and the money for both)
  • Pray: That we continue to rest in God as we plan two weddings in two countries :)

Thanks so much!!

Vida en Mexico (Life in Mexico)

Check out my update, just click on the picture to read about more exciting stories and see pictures of life in Mexico.  In case you’re wondering the top picture is from a camping trip that we went on with our church.  We stayed one night, and when we woke up in the morning it was snowing.  They said it hasn’t snowed this late in the year for 10 or 15 years.  Don’t worry two or three days later it was up in the 90′s (and has been for the past several days.)
