Change of Plans

Posted by The Hartzels in Updates on Apr 14th, 2011 | Discuss This Post

“The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” Psalm 16:9

Today we had planned on leaving Texas and heading to California, but due to some unexpected car issues our plans have changed. We are not sure now when we will be leaving, but we are hoping to leave within the next few days. To give you some background on what is going on with our van: we took our van into the mechanic shop a week ago because it was idling and running rough. After a week in the mechanic shop they still could not figure out what the problem was. So, on Tuesday night and all day Wednesday Aaron and His Dad worked on the van trying to figure out what was going on. This morning we took the van back into the mechanic shop and hopefully what we think is the problem really is the problem, and that they will be able to fix it. Please join us in prayer for wisdom concerning the van and in regards to when we should leave. We will keep you updated on how things are going with our van and with our new departure date! Thanks so much for your prayers!

Oh the Places We will Go!

Posted by The Hartzels in Updates on Apr 14th, 2011 | Discuss This Post

We are so excited about spending this summer with family and friends, as well as traveling as we share our ministry with churches and individuals. We are currently at the stage in our “training” that is the most exciting and also the hardest- support raising! In order for us to go over to Asia Pacific we need financial and prayer partners to join alongside us in this ministry. It is a exciting time because we get a front row seat in watching God amaze us with what He can do- even in what seems impossible to our human eyes. It is also exciting because we have the opportunity to share about our future ministry in Asia Pacific and see other people get excited about bringing Jesus to those who have yet to hear! It is also the hardest time because it is a daily walk of faith and trusting the Lord in all the unknowns. We would love your prayers as we travel, as we share and as we daily walk with the Lord trusting Him in all the unknowns. So where will we be going this summer? On April 14th, we will be leaving Texas and heading to California. We are so excited about this time with family and friends, as we have not been in California for over a year! After a few months in California we will be heading back down to Texas for a few weeks before we head out on the road again, this time to Missouri, Wisconsin, New York and wherever else the Lord leads! We would love to share with as many churches and individuals we can during this time- If you are interested in us sharing with your church, Bible Study/small group, youth group etc or individually- let us know! We would also love to hear from you and how we can be keeping you in our prayers with all of your summer craziness! Thank you for the blessing and encouragement you are in our lives!

What’s Been Going On?!

Posted by The Hartzels in Updates on Mar 17th, 2010 | Discuss This Post

This semester has been an amazing time of watching God work in our lives and watching Him show us over and over His never ending faithfulness and goodness in our lives!
Let us share some of the highlights with you!
1. when we arrived back on campus in January after a month long Christmas break, we came back wondering how the Lord was going to keep us here. We knew the Lord had lead us to be here for this semester and for Aaron to take Linguistics. So, we came back and had no idea how this semester was going to be paid for. But, God did and in His prefect timing, He meet all our needs in ways we would never have imagined! Soon after we arrived here, the Lord amazed us with a scholarship to help pay for our semester. This was no ordinary scholarship. This scholarship was set up by a family in memorial of their loved ones who had passed away. They wanted this money to go to New Tribes Mission Families to help pay for their school bill. This family is given a list of names which they in turn pray about. After much prayer they then let the school know who the money is to go too. Aaron and I were shocked when our names were called, and humbly we thanked the Lord for again meeting our needs, and for again showing us that He is always faithful!
2. We asked that you would join us in prayer as Deanna looked for a job. Again, that Lord answered! Just not in the way we thought! After applying at a dozen different places, and getting no answer, we had no idea what to do. Through this the Lord begin to teach us patience and how to walk by faith. Soon after we received the scholarship, we also got a phone call from the childcare here on campus asking if Deanna was still available to help out. What an awesome blessing! Not only is it prefect because of the hours and location, but the Lord again amazed us. By Deanna working in the childcare, our school bill was cut in half!! God is so good!
3. The Lord continues to amaze us and remind us that He is faithful, that nothing is to hard for Him, that He cares about every detail of our lives and the He will always take care of us!

Aaron is enjoying Linguistics, though some days prove to be harder then others. He is enjoying being stretched and challenged as well as watching God grow him as he goes through these classes.
Meanwhile, Deanna is enjoying helping out in the childcare and taking care of 1-2 year old’s. It is a fun age!

We are also getting more excited about this upcoming summer! We will be traveling out to California where we will spend about a month and then we will head back to Texas to spend about a month and a half before we head out to Oklahoma for Aaron to finish up Linguistics.

How can you be praying for us?!
PRAISE
~For the Lord never ending faithfulness and goodness!
PRAYER
~Health!
~Strength, energy and wisdom for Aaron with classes
~Wisdom regarding end of semester/moving/ summer travels

How can we be praying for you?!!! Let us know how things are going!

Back in Missouri- A Quick Update

Posted by The Hartzels in Updates on Jan 28th, 2010 | Discuss This Post

After our graduation from New Tribes Mission on December 18th, 2009, we headed down to Texas to spend Christmas with Aaron’s family. We had such an awesome and encouraging time of sweet times of fellowship with family and friends while we were there!  It was a blessing to be able to spend time relaxing, as well as the blessing of Aaron being able to work for a couple weeks!  After spending about a month down there, we headed back up to Missouri for Aaron to start linguistics at the Missionary Training Center. It has been a busy couple of weeks as Aaron is getting use to being back in classes, not to mention being incredibly challenged and stretched as He works on homework!

How can you be praying for us this week?!

Be praying for Aaron as he continues to dig into Linguistics, that the Lord would give Him understanding. Pray for Him to also have strength and endurance as he usually has a lot of homework.

Be praying for Deanna, that she would be able to find a job.

That we would continue to fall more in love with the Lord each day!!

That we would continue to grow in our relationship with one another!

Praise: For His Never Ending Faithfulness and Goodness in our lives!

How can we be praying for you?! We would love to know how things are going  for you these days!
